This student guide, one of a series of correspondence training courses designed to improve the job performance of members of the Marine Corps, deals with the fundamentals of diesel engine mechanics. Addressed in the three individual units of the course are the following topics: basic principles of diesel mechanics; principles, mechanics, and performance of diesel engines; and injection and control of diesel engines. Each unit contains a general objective, a series of work units each addressing a different subobjective, study questions, and answers to the study questions.
