DeWitt, Jennifer; Osborne, Jonathan – International Journal of Science Education, 2010
One issue of interest to practitioners and researchers in science centres concerns what meanings visitors are making from their interactions with exhibits and how they make sense of these experiences. The research reported in this study is an exploratory attempt, therefore, to investigate this process by using video clips and still photographs of…

Benayas, J; And Others – Environmentalist, 1987
Reports on a study conducted in Spain in which the environmental preferences of 11 to 14-year-old children were examined using a collection of photographs. Results include the indication that the environmental attitudes of children attending a 15-day nature camp changed noticeably in at least five different aspects. (TW)

Macar, Francoise; Grondin, Simon – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1988
Examines interactions between timing accuracy and muscular parameters in children aged five who performed a visuomotor game. Five images were successively presented on a television display at precisely timed intervals for a total period of 11 seconds. Results suggest that timing accuracy is dependent on action-produced sensory cues. (RWB)

Abello, Rosa P.; Bernaldez, Fernando G. – Journal of Environmental Education, 1987
Reports on an investigation into the behaviors and attitudes of visitors viewing a public exhibition about environmental problems concerning Madrid (Spain). Results indicated that the major variable related to the amount of time spent viewing specific photographs was related to the location of the photographs. (TW)

Barker, Philip – Education and Computing, 1986
This discussion of the use of images in learning processes focuses on recent developments in optical storage disc technology, particularly compact disc read-only (CD-ROM) and optical video discs. Interactive video systems and user interfaces are described, and applications in education and industry in the United Kingdom are reviewed. (Author/LRW)
