Measures of shyness, self-esteem, and creativity were administered to 64 preschool children. Correlational analysis indicated a positive relation between self-esteem and creativity, and a negative relation between shyness and creativity. The relation between shyness and creativity continued after self-esteem was covaried. (Author/DB)

Comparison of 51 artists and 51 nonartists in India found three personality factors (introversion, independence, and tender-mindedness) which, related to working style and creative production of artists, could best differentiate artists from nonartists. These could be predicted from seven other personality factors. (DB)

Lau, Sing; Li, Wing-Ling – Creativity Research Journal, 1996
A study involving 633 Grade five Chinese students in Hong Kong found significant sex and popularity group differences in peer-nominated creativity and popularity group differences in teacher-rated creativity. Overall, peer status and perceived creativity were highly related. Students perceived boys as more creative than girls. (DB)
