This review will be to provide practitioners and policy makers with reliable and valid contextual information about interventions that improve children's mathematical outcomes. More specifically, it will enable teaching professionals to make informed, evidence-based decisions that are substantiated through studies carried out in similar contexts and with similar sample characteristics to their own pupils. This systematic review will aim to answer the following questions: (1) What types of classroom-based interventions or programmes are used with primary school-aged children who do not meet the criteria for math disability? (2) What are the most effective classroom based interventions for improving mathematical learning in primary school-aged children who do not meet the criteria for math disability? (3) What are the key characteristics of the most effective interventions for improving mathematical learning primary-school aged children who do not meet the criteria for math disability (e.g. equipment involved, any associated costs)?
