Look Again! Appealing Bulletin Board Ideas for Secondary Students.
Serritella, Judy
This book offers over 200 library bulletin board ideas for the high school audience, intended to help students gain understanding, inspiration, and amusement while encouraging reading and library use. Each idea includes a list of materials, and many of the ideas are clearly illustrated. While the concepts are aimed specifically at the high school level, most can be adapted for use at the middle school level or in public libraries. The chapters are divided into interests and topics such as: beginnings, endings, and special events; seasons and holidays; cultural diversity; the bookstore; authors; Dewey Decimal rules; research rules; technology; interactive ideas; "Strictly Teens"; and catchy captions. Also included is a "Make Your Bulletin Board Get Noticed" checklist, a compilation of bulletin board tips and ideas for backings, borders, colors, and lettering. The final chapter contains literary quotations about libraries, librarians, books, and reading. The appendix includes a calendar highlighting noteworthy events, letter stencils, and sample bulletin boards. (Contains 265 references.) (MES)
