This document is a revision of the University of Wisconsin (UW) System Undergraduate Transfer Policy, replacing the document last revised on December 8, 1995, and all other prior versions. It incorporates numerous provisions called for by the Board of Regents in "Planning the Future" and "Statement of Principles on UWS/VTAE Credit Transfer." The document further incorporates the recommendations of the 1995 UW System Transfer Working Group and the 1997 UW System General Education Transfer Working Group. These provisions establish procedures and guidelines for UW institutions to improve the overall transfer process. Following an introduction, the provisions address: (1) principles of accommodation for transfer students; (2) minimum general admission requirements for transfer students; (3) transfer of a UW institution associate degree; (4) recognition of institutions and programs; and (5) transfer of credit from non-baccalaureate institutions.
