"Alice in Deutschland" was the theme of an Elementary Arts Methods course for American teachers in Germany. Teachers constructed persons, places, and things in their German environment from a variety of mediums, allowed children to interact with the artwork, and planned a 10-lesson classroom curriculum. When the informal workshop system was substituted for a traditionally structured arts and crafts course in a secondary school for military dependents in Germany, the class flourished.
