Wright, Sandra
The PDQ Project, Planning and Development of Quality Services in the Schools, was an effort by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to provide public school personnel working with communication-disordered children with information and training related to better management. The report summarizes program objectives and outcomes including the following: training of 48 state speech, language and hearing consultants at a workshop in Cincinnati, Ohio followed by the holding of 48 state workshops; identification and training of 12 project trainers and 2 alternates; complimentary provision of the PDQ resource materials to all state special education directors; development of a Trainer's Manual introducing four management techniques; development of a Workshop Participant's Manual; provision of teleconference follow-up; and dissemination of products to university programs. Additional sections of the report provide information on workshop registration; workshop evaluation; dissemination activities; and successful phases, strategies, and products. Appendices provide more details on identification and selection of trainers, marketing the workshops, the workshop schedule and assignment of trainers, evaluation, and dissemination. (DB)
