Communicating about Challenging Behavior: Helpful Conversations between Caregivers and Parents
Hunter, Amy; Broyles, Linda
Zero to Three (J), v32 n2 p12-17 Nov 2011
The normal developmental challenges experienced during early childhood as well as more significant emotional and behavioral problems require that parents and caregivers communicate effectively. The manner in which parents and caregivers communicate with each other about children's behavior can have a significant and lasting impact on children, families, and those in the caregiving setting. The authors describe concrete strategies for effective communication that support the children's development, the parent-child relationship, and the partnership between caregivers and families.
