This directory lists colleges and universities in the United States that have special programs or offer special services for students with deafness or hearing impairments. It provides general descriptions of the many programs which are available, lists many of the career areas of study that are offered, and shows which special services are provided. Programs are divided into national programs, and programs in the Northeast, the Midwest, the South, and the West. The directory also includes a question and answer section to help students make a decision about their future education, maps of the United States showing where all the programs listed in the book are located, a list of questions and references for choosing the right program, a section listing the broad career areas in which students with deafness and hearing impairment are enrolled, a reference table showing the special support services for students offered by each program, and an explanation of how programs were chosen and how they are grouped together for listing in the book.
