The directory provides listings of Catholic school programs and facilities for special students, using information gathered from surveys sent to diocesan offices, Catholic Charities offices, and school offices. The listings are arranged alphabetically by state and then diocese. For each listing, the following information is supplied: name, address, and telephone number; type of facility (residential, day school, group home, or vocational work training); gender served; exceptionalities served; administration; purpose; admission policies; enrollment; and special services. Indices provide access to directory information regarding residential facilities; day schools; group homes; vocational training programs; and programs/facilities serving the mentally retarded/developmentally disabled, the learning disabled, the emotionally and/or socially maladjusted, the hearing impaired, the speech impaired, and the vision impaired.
