Discussion of the nature/nurture controversy in giftedness concludes that giftedness has a strong hereditary basis that is greatly influenced by educational experiences. Parents of gifted preschoolers are advised of research on their role in stimulating cognitive development, achievement motivation, affective development, and social development.
