Motivational Strategies that Work! Winter 2006
Educators' Spotlight Digest, v1 n1 Win 2006
This column is a collaborative effort by library media specialists who write about the motivational strategies that have worked for them. Motivational strategies include ways to gain and sustain attention, increase relevance for learning information literacy skills, build confidence in students' developing research abilities, and promote a continuing motivation to engage in research on a topic or provide satisfaction with research accomplishments. This article presents four vignettes written by library media specialists: (1) "Library Orientation," written by Santina Florio; (2) "Introducing Web Evaluation Skills," by Jenna Lanterman; (3) "Reading Buddies," by Michele Romeo; and (4) "A Real-Life Research Application," by Erika Kwansik.
