Designed to be used in conjunction with the Defined Minimum Program for South Carolina School Districts, these guidelines were developed as part of an effort to evaluate the statewide media program and make recommendations for improvement. Guidelines are presented for the following aspects of the school media program: (1) goals for the media program; (2) media center personnel; (3) media center facilities; (4) media center resources; (5) the media center program; and (6) finances. Section 3.10, "Media Centers," excerpted from the South Carolina School Facilities Planning and Construction Guide, is also included, and a listing of members of the Task Force on School Library Media Centers is provided.
