Elementary School Teachers' Beliefs and Emotions: Implications for School Counselors and Counselor Educators
Warren, Jeffrey M.; Dowden, Angel R.
Journal of School Counseling, v10 n19 2012
An understanding of teacher beliefs and emotions is invaluable for school counselors developing comprehensive counseling programs. This study explored the relationships among elementary school teachers' beliefs and emotions. Teachers (n = 42) completed surveys related to efficacy beliefs, irrational beliefs, and emotions. Significant relationships were found among the variables under investigation. Implications for how these findings translate to practice for school counselors and counselor educators are addressed. Suggestions for future research are explored. (Contains 2 tables.)
