Lessons learned from counselors who provided services to those directly affected by the terrorist attacks are included as well as first-hand accounts by those who have dealt with school shootings and other tragedies. This handbook also includes an update from the Counseling Department of Columbine High School and an inside look at how a grieving community in New Jersey gave birth to what it is now known as "Megan's Law," which requires notifying neighbors when paroled sex offenders move into an area.
