Business Education Manual for Administrators, Counsellors, and Teachers.
Alberta Dept. of Education, Edmonton. Curriculum Branch.
This manual is designed to summarize the main features of the Alberta, Canada business education program and to make suggestions regarding the efficient management of resources, facilities, and equipment. The manual begins with overview materials that present the business program's rationale and philosophy, goals and objectives, an overview of the program, a schematic overview of the program, and objectives of related junior high school programs. Following these introductory materials, the manual is organized in six parts. The first part provides information on planning the business education program, including an overview of structure, matrix, course sequences, integrating computers, sample school programs, articulation, and student awards and scholarships. Part II provides guidelines for planning business education courses, and the third part contains an overview of the various subjects that make up the business curriculum. Part IV provides information on student evaluation; Part V covers the use of resources, including equipment and facilities. Professional development is the topic of the final section of the manual. Six appendixes provide forms useful in planning the business education program. (KC)
