An educational tool concerning renewable energy and the environment, this CD-ROM provides nearly 1,000 screens of text, graphics, videos, and interactive exercises. It also provides a detailed index, charts of U.S. energy consumption by state, an energy glossary, and a list of related Web sites. This CD-ROM, additionally, offers "The School Energy Doctor Software," a step-by-step guide to performing an energy and water audit of a school with interactive exercises that culcultate energy, water, pollution, and economic savings. Also included are: a tour of environmental improvements at the White House and information on what individuals can do for the environment in their own homes; an in-depth look at renewable energy technologies, with a special emphasis on applications and case studies in South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean; six case studies of energy efficiency improvements at Federal government facilities; and "solar sizer," a professional tool for designing and sizing residential photovoltaic systems.
