This portfolio is designed to help volunteers receive credit for the skills they have developed through their volunteer work and to transfer their experience to the paid workplace. The portfolio assists volunteers in keeping records about their experience and in thinking about obtaining a job. The first of the three chapters of the portfolio discusses assessment and planning, evaluating interests and skills and thinking about types of careers. Chapter 2 concentrates on putting together a personal portfolio. It includes instructions for creating a work experience and work samples file, education and training records, and resumes. Samples are included. The final chapter contains information about writing a resume, applying for college admission and credit, beginning a job search, and interviewing. An annotated bibliography is included, and an appendix contains forms for constructing a personal portfolio. (KC)
