In 1987, 998 seniors graduated from the New Hampshire Technical Institute and the six New Hampshire Vocational-Technical Colleges (NHVTC's). Of these graduates, 81% were employed, 11% were continuing their education, 2% were not seeking employment, and 4% were seeking employment. Of the 763 graduates employed full time, 96% were employed in their college major or in a related field, 85% were employed in New Hampshire, and 93% commuted to work from their home town. The average full-time starting salary for all graduates reporting salaries was $17,468, representing a 6% increase over the previous year. This annual placement report provides institutional data on the number of graduates in each program, the numbers employed full and part time, the number continuing their education, the number entering military service, the numbers seeking and not seeking employment, and the number whose status was unknown. In addition, the report provides information on the four-year institutions to which graduates transferred; a breakdown of salaries by type of degree, majors, and individual health fields; a list of the employers who hired 1987 graduates; and a list of placement officers.
