Personal Health & Safety: Do You Know What You're Using? Proceed with Caution: Consumer Safety in the Home, IV.
Saskatchewan Consumer and Commercial Affairs, Regina.
The average family spends hundreds of dollars a year on personal care products. If not treated with care and common sense, these products may be harmful or even deadly. This booklet is designed to increase awareness of the entire range of such products. The proper use of cosmetics, especially eye make-up which might cause eye infections, is illustrated. Caution in the use of diet plans and schemes is urged. Emphasis is placed on proper use and storage of over-the-counter drugs. One of the greatest dangers in the home results from the improper use of electrical grooming appliances such as hair dryers and curling irons because these products are often used in the bathroom. Guidelines for the proper use of these appliances are given. (SM)
