College Tuition Costs and Early Career Socioeconomic Achievement: Do You Get What You Pay For?
Pascarella, Ernest R.; And Others
Higher Education, v24 n3 p275-90 Oct 1992
Followup to a 1971 study investigated the effects of college tuition on early career educational, occupational, and economic achievement for 3,099 African-American and white former students. Results suggest that attending a relatively high-tuition college had a net positive effect on educational attainment, occupational status, income, and women's entry into nontraditional occupations.
