The Nevada Criterion Referenced Tests (CRT) mandated by legislation are designed to provide a means of measuring student academic achievement and proficiency in the Nevada State Content and Performance Standards. This review guide is intended to be used by teachers and administrators as a tool to complement current efforts at preparing students for the state proficiency examinations or remedial efforts based in part on student test performance. The guide contains a sampling of representative items for the CRT, but it does not constitute a practice test and was not designed to provide drill activities. This document contains an introduction to the CRT reading assessments for grades 3 and 5 with sample test items and an introduction to the mathematics assessments for the same grades with representative test items.
