The Relationship of Personality Differences, Evaluation Scores and Perceptions of the Clinical Learning Environment
Bynum, K. Megan
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Trevecca Nazarene University
This study examined the relationship between personality differences between preceptor and athletic training student to evaluation scores. The personality differences of seven preceptors and their paired ATS were measured using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test. From the quantitative findings, we cannot conclude at this time a relationship exists between the two variables. However, the qualitative data insisted a positive relationship between preceptor and ATS is imperative for a productive learning environment. The pairing of an ATS and preceptor should be considered by the Clinical Education Coordinator to benefit the learning process of clinical education.
