Wicherts, Jelte M.; Dolan, Conor V.; Hessen, David J.; Oosterveld, Paul; van Baal, G. Caroline M.; Boomsma, Dorret I.; Span, Mark M. – Intelligence, 2004
The gains of scores on standardized intelligence tests (i.e., Flynn effect) have been the subject of extensive debate concerning their nature, causes, and implications. The aim of the present study is to investigate whether five intelligence tests are measurement invariant with respect to cohort. Measurement invariance implies that gains over the…

Dong, Hei-Ki; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1986
The relationships were examined between the Ball Aptitude Battery (BAB) and the Comprehensive Ability Battery, Differential Aptitude Tests, and General Aptitude Test Battery. Results showed adequate convergent and discriminant validities for all BAB tests except inductive reasoning, which was factorially complex. (Author/GDC)

Knapp, Robert R.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1977
Test-retest reliability coefficients for the brief Career Ability Placement Survey and concurrent validity correlations against the Differential Aptitude Tests and the General Aptitude Test Battery are presented for samples of ninth and tenth grade students. (Author/JKS)

Garrison, Wayne M.; Coggiola, Deborah C. – 1980
The study involving 614 hearing impaired students investigated the adequacy of time limits currently followed in the administration of two subtests of the Differential Aptitude Test battery when used with young deaf students. Thirty-six students who did not complete the Space Relations portion of the battery under the timed condition, and 11 who…

Engelking, D. F. – 1972
Two tables are presented showing the Idaho percentile norms on Form L of the Differential Aptitude Tests administered to students in Grade 9. (CK)

Cureton, Edward E. – 1973
Presented are the methodology and results of an equipercentile equating study in which subtests of the following three editions of multiple aptitude test batteries, in widespread use in 1960, were equated to the tests of the Project TALENT test battery: Flanagan Aptitude Classification Tests (1957); Differential Aptitude Tests (1947) and; the…

Dohm, Thomas E.; Sung, Yong H. – 1982
This report examines the construct validity of the Ball Aptitude Battery (BAB), a multiple ability test battery designed to measure aptitudes related to successful work behavior. Construct validation has focused attention on the role of psychological theory and on the need to formulate hypotheses that can be examined in the validation process.…

URDAL, LLOYD B.; AND OTHERS – 1963
TO ISOLATE FACTORS RELATED TO EARLY SCHOOL LEAVING, DATA WAS OBTAINED ON ALL TWELFTH, EIGHTH, AND FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS IN THE SPOKANE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. ANALYZED WERE--(1) PERSONAL VARIABLES WITHIN THE SCHOOL SITUATION IN THE TWELFTH GRADE, (2) FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH DROPOUTS IN THE EIGHTH GRADE, AND (3) CHARACTERISTICS OF FOURTH GRADE PUPILS IN…

Hakstian, A. Ralph; Bennet, Richard W. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1978
Three multiple-abilities batteries--the Comprehensive Ability Battery, Differential Aptitude Tests, and General Aptitude Test Battery--are briefly discussed, and results of a study involving cross-correlations of the tests in these batteries are presented. (Author/JKS)

Deary, Ian J.; And Others – Intelligence, 1996
The differentiation hypothesis suggests that the degree to which general intelligence ("g") pervades performance on mental tests is greater at lower ability levels. Analysis of data from Differential Aptitude Test results for over 10,500 Irish school children ages 14 to 17 years supports the differentiation hypothesis. (SLD)

Thorndike, Robert L. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1985
Double cross-validation of a test battery against multiple criterion variables found the first general factor accounts for most criterion variance in cross-validated regression weights. Small contributions are made by mechanical/technical and psychomotor factors. It appears a common general factor plays the major role in validity for a range of…

Gold, Ann M. – Measurement and Evaluation in Guidance, 1977
Separate-sex norms are no longer applicable for the interpretation of aptitude test scores. The Differential Aptitude Tests must adopt combined-sex norms in order to remain as an effective measurement and counseling instrument. (Author)

CARPENTER, FINLEY; AND OTHERS – 1965
AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO DETERMINE THE EFFECT OF SYSTEMATIC INSTRUCTION IN SPACE RELATIONS ON RESULTS OF TESTS DESIGNED TO MEASURE SPACE RELATIONS AS AN APTITUDE. OVER 800 STUDENTS, IN 4 SCHOOLS, WERE SELECTED FROM THE EIGHTH- AND NINTH-GRADE LEVELS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STUDY. INSTRUCTIONAL TREATMENTS VARIED FROM MULTIPLE INPUTS TO ZERO INSOFAR AS…
