King-White, Dakota; Jeffries, Shannon
School Social Work Journal, v43 n2 p1-17 Spr 2019
Every year millions of children suffer the loss of a parent due to incarceration. This exploratory study investigated an eight-session group intervention to support this vulnerable population. Within the group, attendance, academic achievement, self-esteem, and delinquent and aggressive behavior were explored. This article will discuss the results of the study and offer implications for practice for mental health providers in K-12 schools regarding the use of support groups for children of incarcerated parents
