This exploratory study examined the effect of an agriculturally-based experiential and work-based learning program, Science With Practice (SWP), on the vocational identity, career decision self-efficacy, and career maturity of undergraduate agriculture and life sciences students. The SWP experience helped clarify students' career interests and career goals. Findings suggest that SWP has a positive effect on vocational identity and career decision self-efficacy but no measurable impact on career maturity. The findings of this study have implications for experiential learning programs in higher education and for the use of programs like SWP as a career intervention to facilitate student career development.
