Christophe Lavaysse

Christophe Lavaysse is a hydrometeorologist at the Institute of Environmental Geosciences within the Grenoble Observatory of Universe Sciences (OSUG).

His research focuses on the study of meteorological and climatic hazards and their impacts on various sectors in Africa, with close collaborations in Senegal, Niger, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, and South Africa. Thanks to this expertise, he served as scientific coordinator of the ClimSA program at the European Commission (DG Joint Research Centre).

Involved in several French and European projects, he is the leader of the ANR STEWARd project, which aims to improve risk forecasting related to natural hazards in West African cities.

As a scientific advisor at the IRD, Christophe Lavaysse is responsible for coordinating the Climate CoSav.
