The emergence of open access is reshaping the way scholarly information is disseminated and consumed. In this comprehensive exploration, we will delve into what open access is and how JSTOR, our renowned digital library, is playing a crucial role in facilitating open access for academic journals, books, art, and research reports.

Growing up in Miami, Florida, surrounded by Caribbean cultures across the diaspora, I developed a strong sense of identity as a proud Caribbean creative, a Belizean Cuban American designer. My intersectionalities have significantly influenced my creativity and the stories I choose to tell through my work as I delve into the importance of preserving family memories, the power of personal archives, and the transformative role of working at ITHAKA/JSTOR.

Despite these concerns, and in some ways because of them, we are collaborating closely with our community of librarians, faculty, researchers, and students to address the numerous existential questions, institutional concerns, and practical considerations introduced by use AI and other advanced technologies in education. We are great believers in learning both through careful research and through action, and so I want to introduce you to some of the work we have underway.
