Abstract:
Today legacy networks are managed box by box and are CLI driven. Small changes often have large impacts, undesired behavior and very complex. The static network infrastructure deteriorates the application experience and cannot adapt to a change in application behavior. To avoid this chaos network should be made programmable using Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) while operation should be much more automated and simplified. New feature should be release and deliver by pressing a single button. Thus, this will increase revenue, cost reduction and cost avoidance. In this new paradigm, automated system to perform configuration changes carryout testing at each stage to ensure that the network changes do not result in downtime and finally push those configurations towards prospective devices. To summarize based on facts, network changes is directly correlated with increasing frequency of outages, with each outage can take up to many hours to resolve and majority of the network engineer are still manually verifying a network after changes are committed, which means that, we need a better way to make and verify network change, for which we enter in to the new era of Network configuration, programmability and automation. This new era of NetDevOps will embrace the best practices of adopting DevOps culture in the whole world of networking.
