GetFTR

The Get Full Text Research (GetFTR) service enables convenient linking back to the authoritative source of an article in IEEE Xplore from various publisher and discovery services sites providing researchers with more direct access to published subscribed and open access content.

About GetFTR

The service provides real time entitlement checks and displays the GetFTR indicator on the search results, article page or references so that researchers can easily determine which content their institution has made available to them. Examples of discovery tools providing GetFTR indicators include: Mendeley, ResearchGate, SemanticScholar, Scopus. In addition various publishers offer GetFTR links from their references including ACS, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, IOP, and Wiley.

All IEEE Xplore customers who are IP authenticated (using IPv4) will be enabled for GetFTR by default. Customers who authenticate using IPv6 are not currently supported. In addition, only customers who subscribe to IEEE Electronic Library (IEL), IEEE Proceedings Order Plans (POP and POP All), and IEEE All-Society Periodicals Package (ASPP) are included in the program.

Browser Extension

A GetFTR browser extension is available for download for Google Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Once installed, the browser extension will add GetFTR buttons via additional sites such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Web of Science, EBSCO Discovery Service, ProQuest Summons, Primo, Semantic Scholar, Bing, etc.
