Abstract:

This document provides recommended practices for applying human factors engineering (HFE) to systems and equipment that have significant human interfaces in nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities.
Scope:
This project upgrades the existing guide to a recommended practice for applying human factors engineering (HFE) to the significant human interfaces of systems, equipment, and facilities in nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities. This document provides recommended practices for applying human factors engineering (HFE) to the significant human interfaces of systems, equipment, and facilities in nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities.
Purpose:
This project revised the existing document to: Reflect current industry practices; Align the document for compatibility with related IEEE standards; Add technical guidance or references; and, Amend document type in accordance with IEEE guidelines. This document provides guidance to management and engineering personnel for the development of integrated programs for applying human factors engineering to the design, operation, and maintenance of nuclear power generating stations and other nuclear facilities.
